The Power of a Praying Wife – Week 1

Hey ladies! I’m excited to see the response I’ve gotten from this challenge.

Week 1 – Reading assignments

Monday: The Power — pages 13 – 23 {This isn’t a chapter but an introduction to the book.}

Tuesday: His Wife — pages 25 – 36 {This is half of the first chapter. Stop at the Believe or Not section. Because this one is long, I decided to spread it out over 2 days.}

Wednesday: His Wife — pages 36 – 47

Thursday: His Work — pages 49 – 54

Friday: His Finances — pages 55 – 59

Check in

I don’t want to overload my blog with talk of Praying Wives :) So I’ll probably do one or two tweets daily to check in and remind people there to read their chapter. If you want to see the Twitter conversation, check out the Praying Wife page. You can also comment on Facebook as these blog posts will come through as Notes.

On Fridays, I’ll put up a check in post discussing some things I pulled out of each chapter. Please comment there or if you blog and write about it, let me know about it.

Questions? Comments? Ideas on how to discuss this better? Leave me a comment here!

    So I’m testing out this WordPress Thread Comment thing and I made sure to enable the reply by email :D Hope you get this comment — and the book! No hurry on the book though. You’ll be able to catch up!

  2. K…so I’m trying this again…(Pssst…it says ‘Notify me of follow-up comments…’ twice.) ;-)

    Well, trying this again. Only see the notify check box once. Hmmm. Something else to fix :D

  3. I started reading this morning. Thanks for taking the initiative in this, Lisa!

    Hey! Just found out about this study today. I love this book and have been through it before. Never hurts to redo. :) Hubbie has the one for wife too. I will join in as I am able. Excited!

    I encourage you to read the prayers outloud. :)

    Amy Lynn sent me over via Twitter as “an old pro”. I’ve used this book for the past five years, on and off, to help structure my prayer time for my husband. Every few months, I’ll use one chapter a day (match it to the date, i.e. read Chp 1 on the 1st, etc) and read/pray through it for a month. I don’t re-read it each month I use it, only read it once every couple of years or so.
    I’m looking forward to seeing how the Lord uses it in your lives!
