I've been through the church hunting more than once (from moving to different states)...it can be a tiresome journey. I will definitely pray for you and your family to know (through God) which church is right for you!

You've got to be kidding me that those girls did that to her. I hope you were able to talk to the girls who did that and to their parents. That is very uncalled for and very scary for your daughter.

I just started a book with my girls that so far I like (only on chapter one)-The Inside Out Beauty book by Sandra Byrd. http://www.amazon.com/Inside-Out-Beauty-Book-Tools-Girls/dp/076422493X/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215962486&sr=8-4

I would probably keep looking... When Scott and I were looking for a church, we discussed what was most important, what we had to have, what we could live without... Then we listed 4 churches that we thought might have what we were looking for... and prayed a lot. WE knew that we could not visit just once... we made a decision that it would take several months (it didn't though).

You want Callie to be ministered as well. I truly believe that a strong, competant children's ministry is very important. You want mentors, leaders, Godly men and women - not just whoever was willing to be in her class that day because no one else could..

amanda's last blog post..<a href="http://sublettcraziness.blogspot.com/2008/07/worship.html">Worship</a>

Poor Doodle....I gasped when I read they put her in the closet. I believe very much in the Titus 2 concept that we are called to mentor and be mentored. I also believe this starts at a young age. Because I am called to minister to pre-teens and teens, I tell them they are each an example to the younger ones around them. High school girls, the middle schoolers are looking to you to set the standard; middle schoolers, the elementary age girls are looking to you and so on. I believe we must try to teach our daughters this concept. Unfortunately, middle school girls are ruthless...not all, but many, it's a very tough age. But to have high school girls push into a closet is uncalled for. Lisa, please pray about this and ask God's direction because these are the girls Doodle will be looking at to set the standards...you might want to visit a few more churches. Only my opinion, love ya girl, Shari P.S. Interesting you wrote this, cause I just posted about visiting a new church as well...also linked to you today, friend.
