It’s all true … Meme

by Lisa B on May 14, 2008

Soliloquy @ She Just Had To Say It tagged me for a meme she made up the questions for. So, lest she thinks I’ve snubbed her, I figured I’d better answer the questions today.

Favorite person (outside family)? This is a toughie. I have 3 best friends whom I never get to see any more. I’d say they are my favorite people outside of my family. Lora and I have known each other since Kindergarten (we won’t go into how long ago that was). Julie and I were very close until she moved back out of state. Lisa 1 (because she came into the world first) was one of my college instructors. I so wanted to be like her when I got out of school. I failed miserably — not school, being like her :)

Favorite food? I was going to say Ranch and sour cream (not together, just for added dipping pleasure), but really my favorite food is a good steak with baked potato covered in sour cream :)

Quirks about you? I’m not really sure. I’m going to really mess up this meme, aren’t I? I had no idea she asked so many questions! My right foot is crooked. That’s all I got.

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less? (Ask them) I emailed this question to Duck and his response: “God’s perfect gift to me.”

Any regrets in life? The only regrets I have are when I’m being so hard-headed and not listening to God, that I go through the same problems over and over and over again. I wish I could just learn my lesson the first time and be done with it.

Something you can’t get enough of? Right now, softball. I’ve been working out in the gym hoping to become a better player — and I have. I just haven’t been able to play enough to test out my new-found abilities.

What job would you pay NOT to have? Any job … ROFL … ok, seriously, any job outside of my home.

Favorite Bible verse right now? Ok, I cheated. You said verse and I picked 2.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” — Matthew 6:33, 34 (NKJV)

Guilty Pleasure? Blogging. Reading blogs and drinking too much Coke. You did mean Guilty Pleasures, right?

Got any confessions? I’ve got plenty of confessions — I’m the Queen of Shrink. I hate to clean house and the laundry stays piled high or stuck in the washer/dryer for days on end. My house is pretty cluttered with junk, but I’d rather read blogs about organizing and decluttering and block out the view.

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it? I would have a windshield put on my motorcycle and buy a more comfortable seat for it. Or I’d put it towards my clothing shopping trip in June :)

Favorite thing about your house? That it’s one floor. I thought Duck was crazy wanting a ranch style house when we got married, but I love not having to go up and down stairs.

Least favorite thing about your house? Does clutter count? It’s in the house not technically part of the house. I don’t like the fact that it’s not designed — I have too much stuff and it’s not a very relaxing place to be. I’m not a designer-type person, so it’s hard for me to pick out colors, furniture, etc. I can paint all day long — just don’t make me pick out the color.

One thing you are bad at? Finishing things I start.

One thing you’re good at? Techie computer stuff — especially when it comes to WordPress. I love WordPress.

If you could change something about your circumstances, what? I wish Duck didn’t have to work. I know he still would, but I wish there wasn’t all that pressure on him to provide for our family. He does an awesome job of providing everything we need and all our wants — I just wish he had more time to follow some of his dreams.

Who would you like to meet someday? Jesus.

What makes you feel sexy? A fresh manicure and pedicure. Shower. Shaved. Hair styled. Makeup. Pretty clothes.

When are you most relaxed? During a massage, when it’s nice a quiet. When I don’t have any appointments or anything I have to do for several hours.

What stresses you out? When Duck and Doodle both want alone time with me at the same time.

What can you not live without? That would be a toss up between an internet connection and Coke. Seriously, I could live without either, but no one would like me very much. I would not be a nice person at all.

Do you agree or disagree with the recent article that reported that blogs are authored by narcissists? I don’t have a clue what article you’re referring to so you need to find it :)

Why do you blog? I started blogging to keep in touch with family and friends. Then I started writing devotional type stuff and making new friends. Now I think I’m just blogging because my memory sucks. I can look back at stuff I wrote last year, and seriously? It’s like reading what someone else wrote.

Rules:

1. Answer the questions (Did I really have to include this as a rule? Duh!)
2. Link back to whoever tagged you
3. Tag eight bloggers to do the same, 2 from each category.
• New/ newer bloggers (since we want to share the love and send them traffic)
• Bloggy friends
• Bloggers you’d like to get to know better
• Bloggers you don’t think will respond, but you hope will

Or break all the rules and tag whoever you want. Or tag yourself. WHATEVER. It’s a brand new meme, so the more people who participate, the better. I just couldn’t tell everyone to tag 23 people.

I broke Rule #1. I could not take the time to answer all gazillion questions. If there’s one I skipped and you want to know the answer, you can let me know in the comments. Soliloquy asked some really tough questions!! Rule #2 was taken care of above. And here’s the tagging for Rule #3:

New Bloggers: Annabelle (because she won my bloggy giveaway!) and well, I can’t think of anyone else who’s new at blogging so I guess I’m breaking this rule already.

Bloggy Friends: Heather @ Desperately Seeking Sanity (thanks for letting me tag her Soliloquy!) and Jo-Lynne @ Musings of a Housewife

Bloggers you’d like to get to know better: Beth @ I should be folding laundry and Laurel Wreath’s Reflections.

Bloggers I don’t think will respond but I hope they will: Rachelle @ Seek First His Kingdom and Sophie at Boo Mama.

And for those of you who want just a list of the questions, right-click this link and save a text file to your computer. I found that made it easier for me than picking apart Soliloquy’s post :)

Wow, I’m (surprised and) flattered to know you consider me ‘up there’ on your list! But “…failed miserably” ? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you ‘fail miserably’ at anything (except that one final exam… just kidding, just kidding!).

Having watched you go through college and grow up, I think you turned out pretty darned good just the way you are :)

The world needs more people who are visionaries, yet able and willing to learn new skills and apply them to their vision. And I think this is something you do very well. You’ve also got a real knack for reinventing yourself, and being flexible is a really good thing.

I think using your technical skills as a tool for spreading God’s Word is a given in this day and age – and it’s an area in which we’re very much alike :) Keep up the good work.

Now this reinvention into a ‘Harley mom’ … well, that’s a whole ‘nother post :) HA!
