I was tagged by Heather @ Desperately Seeking Sanity who is so good for this kind of stuff and then I was tagged by PJ. I think y’all are just picking on me!
It said to pick up the closest book to me, but I wonder if that person realized just how hard that is — there are many stacks of books on my desk and at least 3 books in the pile that’s closest to me
But I picked one and here is the meme:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages.)
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.
Despite having been most cooperative and easy to work with, he said he felt so strongly about this point that he would return the advance and pull the plug if the book didn’t end the way he wished. The publisher blinked. And the supplementary material proved most effective and was the subject of most of our fan mail.
This comes from Writing for the Soul by Jerry B. Jenkins. This passage was talking about Joe Gibbs. He was adament about including how he became a Christian and how others could do the same at the end of his book Joe Gibbs: Fourth and One. Good book — the Jenkins one, I haven’t read the Joe Gibbs one
Now, to think of 5 people to tag …
- Mary Beth Whalen (because I’d love to know what she’s reading right now)
- Lysa TerKeurst
- Glynnis Whitwer
- Renee Swope
- Shari Braendel

I just read an excerpt from that book at the bookstore and also had someone tell me it’s excellent. I will have to check it out.
Hi Sweet Friend!
Thanks for the tag. Am I supposed to post it on my blog or just in the comments here?
Well, the book I am reading right now is By Francis Frangipaigne (sp?). It’s called “Truth, Holiness and the Presence of God.” It is the fifth time I’ve read it. It just speaks to me.
I hope you have a beautiful Sunday.
Off to church… Lysa
Hi Lisa,
The closest book to me at this moment is “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young. Here is what it says on page 123, sentences 5, 6 and 7. Perfect for me today.
“Instead of trying to create a mental map of your path through this day, focus on My loving Presence with you. I will equip you as you go, so that you can handle whatever comes your way. Trust me to supply what you need when you need it.”
Another book I am reading “A Love Worth Giving” by Max Lucado.
Thanks for including me!
Renee
