I survived another 2 miles!

I survived another 2 miles on my bike — riding in big circles. Of course the first time I took off, I almost didn’t make the first circle. Duck thought for sure I was headed for the woods, and for a split second I thought this is where I’m going to lose it. But I kept my cool and turned just before running into the grass. Ha! Duck thought the bus parking lot would be big enough for me — but maybe not :) I only rode a couple of miles because we washed our bikes in the afternoon, took pictures (below) and it was getting late in the day. I didn’t bring my jacket because I didn’t think I’d need it, but as the sun started to set, it was chilly.

Here I am trying to be all cool and stuff on my bike …

Don’t I look adorable? Blech. When I was 18 I thought briefly about being a model. Glad I didn’t go that route though. I would hate to worry with the hair, makeup and poses.

Here I come …

Here I come

If you could see my face good in this one, I was concentrating hard! See the smoke coming from my ears?

Concentrating Hard

and there I go!

There I go

I’m starting to get the hang of it. I don’t have any idea how in the world they think someone can learn to ride a motorcycle in a weekend. My class isn’t until March and it’s a Friday night, all day Saturday and all day Sunday. I’m thankful I could get over some of my nerves here instead of in front of a class full of people I don’t know. I did tell Duck he should get the video camera out — I have a feeling when I wipe out there would be a great chance we could get some money on America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Where the heck is your helmet?!?!? Girl, you are crazy brave! I have ridden on the back numerous times, but I do not know if I trust myself enough to try to drive!

Ok, so Amanda busted me first. I figured it would’ve been Mom, but she must be slacking off in her retirement and not keeping up with my blog :)

Honestly I wasn’t going that fast, and I needed to hear if Duck yelled out instructions to me. I wouldn’t be able to hear a thing with the helmet. Well, that’s my excuse any way! I’ll probably start wearing it next time as I need to get used to looking through it to drive.

And — I’d love to have company in the motorcycle class Amanda! You could come take the class with me :) Then you could be a puppy-birthin’-biker-mama!

I didn’t post because I couldn’t decide what to say: either “ARE YOU CRAZY!”, or “Gee, honey, you look great!” My daughter, the biker babe. . . sigh . . . where did we go wrong?

I assure you that you did not “go wrong”. Your daughter is great!

Hmmmmm. I might argue that last point (where did we go wrong). Depending on when you ask the question. In fact, I have a list that I would be glad to share…..

I told Lisa not to wear a helment when I was teaching her to ride the Harley. She’ll wear one when she gets her license. She did great for her first time out. No dropsies and she didn’t even pop the clutch when taking off. I give full credit to her instructor for her doing so well!

:) Will you still take the credit when she does eventually wipe out? That’s the thing about instructors…they take the credit when their pupil does good, but if they fail, then it wasn’t their fault. “I taught her better than that!” We’ll see what happens. I love you anyway.

Ya know what? It’s nice to know I’m loved :D

I’m sure when I wipe out (which everyone is just waiting for), my instructor will claim I wasn’t listening when he taught that part :)

And speaking of that list he’s got … reminds me I need to do laundry :D
