Today the weather was really nice. Duck took my motorcycle to a nearby school bus parking lot (I say this so you’ll realize how big the parking lot is), and I got to ride my first 3 miles on my bike! Duck said I did really good for my first time, although I was initially scared to death. He was a great encouragement and told me he knew I could do it. It’s kinda funny — I hear him giving Doodle the same pep talks
Anyway, I rode in second gear (slightly faster than I can run) in big wide circles. I started going to the left, and then I even tried going to the right. I had a death grip on the handles which made my hands hurt. Hopefully that will get better with practice
I didn’t pop the clutch one time, which Duck says is a really good sign. It’s supposed to be pretty again tomorrow and maybe I’ll be brave enough for him to take pictures then. I conveniently forgot my camera today because, well, I just figured I’d probably look ridiculous.
Riding the bike was a little harder than I was thinking it would be — meaning turning it and holding it up and such. I may decide later on down the road that I prefer to leave the driving to Duck — but for this summer at least, I’ll be able to ride behind Duck and Doodle.
Check in with me Monday when I share my answer to “Do you have a death wish?”
