I must have lost my mind. But this will be fun
Heather @ Desperately Seeking Sanity encouraged me yesterday to sign up for the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Starting November 1st through November 30th, thousands of people will be concentrating on word count instead of quality of writing. Fifty thousand words is the goal.
Last night, I finished reading Karen Kingsbury‘s “A Time to Dance.” It was an exceptional book. She writes what she’s trademarked as “Life-Changing Fiction (TM).” I want to be like her when I grow up! She writes simply and beautifully, bringing the characters to life. It’s like they are living next door, everyday people with everyday struggles. While I’ve been reading her books, I’ve got a novel idea in my head. I guess that’s a good thing I’m not totally starting blind in November
So if you’d like to join in on the fun, no one has to read what you write unless you want them to — you can sign up at the NaNoWriMo site. If you’d also like to add me as a writing buddy, view my author profile and click on the “add as buddy” link. Let’s help encourage each other to just get the words out of our head!
