Ok, so this title loses a lot when you can’t hear my wonderful husband saying it, but just imagine you hear him ew’ing and aw’ing about me being one of Doodle’s room parents. In the past 2 years I’ve helped with the PTA (spirit sales for an elementary school — how much spirit can you really have in a school without sports? but I digress…). I know you remember the tv show (hopefully I’m not showing my age here) Harper Valley PTA? Well, Duck would sing the theme song to Harper Valley PTA all the time! So I decline a position this year on the PTA board and decide to just help out in Doodle’s room. Now I get this — this title — complete with wiggly fingers. I think I’ll just have to video it so ya’ll can enjoy it — at least one of us should enjoy it!
The Room Mother (eeewww …. aaaawww)

Aaawww… that is very sweet… well enjoy being the room mom. It’s much more fun than being a PTA officer. You can just do your part, have fun with the kids and then go. That’s the most fun anyway.

Thanks Angela,
I’ll try to enjoy it
It was good to know what was going on in the school when I was a PTA officer, but then again, I didn’t know much about what was going on in Doodle’s room at the time. I am fortunate in that Doodle goes to a school where the parents are very involved. I think that’s most crucial in a public school system. Doodle knows I email her teacher and I’ll find out if she’s doing anything she shouldn’t be doing

Yes it’s kind of a different, knowing about the whole school vs. being in the room. Both are important of course. But you can’t be at two places at once. LOL good thing many of the other parents are involved so you all can support each other and choose when/how to volunteer.
Nice chatting with you… I’ll stop by your blog more often.
