Heartache

For the past few weeks, I’ve heard a common theme through some conversations both online and off-line. I am hearing more and more about Christian women (and some Christian men) who want Christian counseling — someone to talk to about their struggles and problems who has the same faith. But these Christians are getting knocked down left and right. One woman went through what she believed were the proper channels in her church only to fall through the cracks. Another woman doesn’t feel comfortable talking with her pastor, but doesn’t know where else to look for help. Yet another woman said she had to quit seeing a counselor because insurance will not cover it.

My heart literally aches for these women. I want to put my arms around them, give ‘em a big ol’ hug, and tell them that God sees their pain. I want to tell them God has a plan for them, each and every one. I want to tell them they matter to God. I want to point them to the Bible and help them grow closer to God. But I can’t give them a hug. They all live so far away. I can’t meet with them once a week to help them through the tough times they are experiencing. My heart aches because most of these women are falling through the cracks at their churches.

The Value of a Friend

9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
– Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Dear friend, know this: Whether I know you in person or virtually, you will always have a friend in me. I want to do my best to help those who truly want God’s will for their life. You are not alone. Even if we’re separated by miles, email me. God uses the Internet.
