Thankful Thursday

by Lisa B on May 10, 2007

God’s just really blessing my socks off, so I may repeat myself and/or forget something very important.

  • I am very thankful for my Mom. She thinks I’m cool and for the life of me, I don’t know when that happened! [Check out her comment on my "I am a writer" post.] I was mostly a Daddy’s girl — ok, always fully a Daddy’s girl — and went through the typical teenage years thinking I knew more than anyone else. Then I became a mom. Wow. I knew I didn’t want a daughter because I didn’t want the things that I did to Mom to come back at me, but as God would have it, we have a beautiful, healthy girl. Thankfully I grew up out of those wild teenage years and Mom and I have a neat relationship. So, Happy Mother’s Day Mom! I love ya!
  • I am so very thankful God saw fit to bring Howard to this new job he’s starting on Monday. Just the fact that the increase is more than what I was trying to bring in to help with bills, solidifies to me that it’s God’s will. He’s excited, but also nervous. If you would, please keep him in your prayers next week. I know he can do the work. He’s very smart and he works really hard. I just hope the new people he works with realize that as well.
  • I am thankful for spaghetti :) and thankful I like to eat it so much. I had the wires changed on my braces yesterday and my mouth’s been sore! I’m thankful for the soreness though because my teeth are moving back into place at record speed. One day I’ll see if I can get copies of the pictures the dentist took — before, during and then after. God wants us to take care of what He’s given us and to me that included my teeth. He’s given me a pretty good set of choppers and I’ll probably have them another 20 years. So they might as well be straight — at least that helps me clean them better!
  • I am thankful that I was around to celebrate another birthday with my family and friends-in-a-box :)
  • I am thankful Howard has encouraged Callie and I to get off our booties and get outside to exercise. We still don’t do a whole lot, but we had some wonderful family time the other day playing ball outside and walking Fletcher.
  • I am thankful for a new friend named Shannon. We had a wonderful conversation yesterday about dogs, kids and church. But God’s opened the door there for a new friendship and opportunity to share God’s love — even if it’s through a doggie crate I gave her.
  • I am thankful for a very wonderful chocolate pound cake my Mom made me for my birthday :)

Oh I know there’s more but I just can’t think right now! Maybe I’ll add more later :)
