Thankful Thursday

This is all getting way out of hand now. My friend, whom I’ve been trying to share Jesus with, has just taken off! My Bible-in-a-year plan? I read 3 days last week and everything else got off-track this week. She’s right on schedule :) My blogging on a regular basis? Yeah, right! What’s a regular basis? She’s posting everyday sometimes two and three times a day — and not just idle chit chat either. She’s posting some good stuff. So, since I’m not feeling very thankful today and stressing all that I “need” to do — I decided to join in on this Thankful Thursday stuff.

  • I am thankful for a wonderful, loving, Godly husband who strives everyday to provide everything we think we need. He works so hard and worries about my daughter and me. I’m thankful God put us together, but more importantly God’s kept us together for over 10 years.
  • I am thankful for my healthy, smart daughter even on the days where she talks back to me (she’s only 7 years old). I’m thankful for her many questions about Jesus, about people, and everything in general. She is very smart and understands a lot more than I did at her age.
  • I am thankful to 2 loving parents who saw fit to move me to another state (kicking and screaming) when I was 11 — without them, I would not know what I know now nor would I be where I am now. I’m sure I’d be in a not-so-good place had we stayed where we were. I’m thankful for the love that they have shared over the many years of marriage.
  • I am thankful for good in-laws who accepted me into their family, who raised a Godly son, and who absolutely adore my daughter. Although they spoil her, she has great opportunities to go and do things with them that she would not otherwise do — or do as often as she does with them.
  • I am thankful for my health, Benadryl and Motrin. I truly am blessed if sinus headaches from allergies are the only things I have to deal with health wise.
  • I am thankful for my special friend who is growing in the Lord. It’s so very wonderful to see what she’s learning and through “new eyes.” It’s helped me a great deal with my beliefs and faith as well. I’m reminded if we remember to make time to pray, God is faithful in answering those prayers. May not be the answer we want, but oh so many times it has been!
  • I am most thankful God sent Jesus to die for me. I am so totally, utterly worthless, but Jesus came anyway. I am thankful that one day I’ll be in heaven and be able to bow at Jesus’ feet and thank Him for everything He’s done for me.

Now I’m feeling better :) Getting my eyes focused where they needed to be all along. Thanks Heather for posting your Thankful Thursday post! You’re helping me stay accountable :)

Thank you for sharing your thankful list with us this week…

It is awesome to have a husband that takes care of the all our needs :)

Sometimes I stand in awe that Christ died for my sins…I some times don’t feel worthy of His sacrifice.

    Blessings to your week ahead…

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my site during the party! I have enjoyed your site as well. I plan to return often :)

Regarding the reading through the bible, I was just going to invite you and your friend to join an email accountability group that I started. We have about 20 people so far all across the country. We would love to have you and your friend join us!

To find out more about it, read my “Speaking” post. (I hope you don’t mind a link….) http://julieblack.wordpress.com/2007/01/27/speaking/

We are reading from Genesis to Revelation at our own pace, but with the goal of finishing the entire bible by year’s end. Let me know if you would like to join us! :)

    Have a great week!
